Hi, Eugene. I'll be the first to admit that some of the numbers are sheer estimates. But as someone who was there, and as someone who is a part of this community, I believe the 95% figure is reasonably close. Of the 100-200 folks I encountered during my week there when the subject came up, there wasn't a single one who wasn't fully-vaccinated (who would admit it, anyway). I know that's not a random sample, but still, it's pretty impressive. The Provincetown resident data itself is actually hard to interpret. In some places the official P-Town vaccinated figure is listed as 114% (I think because the population there is somewhat seasonal). I didn't want to quote 114%, so I took the 95% and referenced that. My concern is that when the press reports something like "half the cases were fully-vaccinated," they leave out the denominator and don't take into account the possibility that a high percentage of the general population might have been vaccinated.
